The previous update is confirmed by another Iraqi website [iraqirabita, Arabic] from another witness, who said that the chaos was the result of the police starting to shoot bullets in the air to get rid of the people who jammed by the concrete barriers but people thought that the police are exchanging fire with terrorists

At least one Iraq news website published a different version of the story [Aliraqnews].
The website claim that eyewitnesses said: both sides of the bridge were blocked by concrete barriers, people started to jam by barriers wanted to enter by they been prevented by the police.
