From Iraqirabita [Thanks Nadia][on the webÂsite there are more images]: 10 August AmerÂiÂcan solÂdiers shot 40 years old, 8 months pregÂnant Iraqi women in front of her house in Mosul and killed her fetus, the solÂdiers left the scene withÂout givÂing the woman the medÂical attenÂtion or offerÂing any assisÂtance, neighÂbors took the woman to the hosÂpiÂtal, the woman surÂvived but her fetus took the bulÂlet in his chest and came out through his back and he already was dead.
I will add my voice to Iraqirabita webÂsite and ask Human rights orgaÂniÂzaÂtion for a direct invesÂtiÂgaÂtion and prosÂeÂcuÂtion of the sodiers who caused this crime.
On the same issue [ priÂvate emails and conÂfirmed by asharÂqalawsa newsÂpaÂper] AmerÂiÂcan solÂdiers killed a well-known Iraqi carÂdiÂolÂoÂgist and heart surÂgeon Dr Basil Abbas who is treatÂing my father curÂrently.

NorÂmally I don’t pubÂlish Graphic picÂtures on this Blog but this one is exceptional.
This point is way too easÂily glossed over by the pro-Saddam folks.
If the US had an amoral forÂeign polÂicy bent on oil conÂtrol period, we would have done like the Chinese/Russians/old Europe/etc. and never have lifted a finÂger in oppoÂsiÂtion to SadÂdam. We would leverÂage our vastly supeÂrior financial/economic/military resources to make sure that no one touched a damn thing and made each and every ME leader our bosom buddy.
The free flow of oil is part of the calÂcuÂlaÂtion to be sure — but it is not the only one. If we wanted cheap oil we would have lifted sancÂtions against Iraq long ago. We would have given SadÂdam bilÂlions for oil proÂducÂtion investÂment and conÂcesÂsions. Who could have comÂpeted with US domÂiÂnaÂtion if that is what we wanted to the excluÂsion of all else??? There are thouÂsands of ways the US could have leverÂaged its power to coopt SadÂdam or anyÂone else in the region.

The USA has killed far more Iraqis since 1991 than SadÂdam ever did, there’s not the slightÂest bit of doubt on that subÂject, so let’s not have this savÂing Iraqis crap. As for the no fly Zones, they were illeÂgal under InterÂnaÂtional Law and since they were used to taget Iraqi infraÂstrucÂture, Iraq had every right to shoot them down.
The war is illeÂgal can can change that fact and evenÂtuÂally peoÂple like Bush, Blair and Howard will be made to pay.
A ‘mind of misÂinÂforÂmaÂtion’ if there ever was one.
