I understand that as a celebrity, Cheney is fair game in terms of personal interest stories and the like — Similar to what Madonna or Britney Spears must face when entire shows like ‘Entertainment Tonight’ debate about whether or not she wore an appropriate sweater for a beach party, etc.

Now if Dick Cheney had shot the president if Iran — that would be big news. The MSM would and should be all over it. But he shot his friend by accident while they were hunting birds on private property. It was a hunting accident. It was a bad accident. It was a tragic accident.

While the MSM certainly should report the event, they shouldn’t devote the news cycle for entire week or more, as ifthe world stopped spinning, to a bad private hunting accident.

The only explanation that fits the nature of Whittington’s injuries is that Cheney’s gun discharged at extremely close range.

Hmmm…yes. It is obvious now that Cheney, Armstrong, and the US Ambassador to Switzerland, and the VP’s Secret Security detail were in a plot to murder Cheney’s 30 year friend, Whittington. When they wack a guy, they always send a friend.

Couldn’t agree more.

Is this the same guy who insinuated that Cheney and his 78 year old buddy were slutting it up with the swiss ambassador?

First off, a 28 guage shotgun is WAY more powerful than a bb gun. That is just plain stupid.

But the spread pattern on the victim will clarify any range issues. Was it 30 feet? Or 30 yards? I have no idea.

I thought it was really nutty tonight the way ALL of the news channels devoted almost their entire news programs to covering this issue. I mean, sure its important to Cheney, the guy who shot his old buddy, as well as to the old buddy himself, who got shot. Its probably important to all of their friends and loved ones. But this just can’t be THE news story upon which the world turns. Can it? Is this all the ‘journalists’ can think about while prioritzing all the issues of the day? Its pretty pathetic. The MSM sucks.

How can a 28-gauge shotgun fired from supposedly 30 yards away cause pellets to become lodged in someone’s heart?

It is common practice for birds to be stunned as a result of the pellets not penetrating and it is usually necessary to have to snap the neck to finish them off.

How can a weapon that has little more power than a kids BB gun fire projectiles that in most cases don’t penetrate further than an inch into a bird’s breast and yet in this instance tore through a hunting vest, clothes underneath, the chest cavity and into the muscle of Whittington’s heart?
