Freedom of Speach”: Movies

gitmo

Just two days ago I learned that the Movie “

Although the movie hit a boxoffice records in Turkey and most likely among the immigrants in Europe also but Germany wanted to ban the movie.

Official wants Turkish ‘Iraq’ film pulled.

More than this, they want Turkish community to condemn the movie also.

German politician urges Turkish community to condemn hit Iraq film.

If we start to talk movies then we must mention another movie “

This one is not a fictional movie, it’s for real:

Movie director Michael Winterbottom said:

What’s most shocking isn’t the torture or the shackling, it’s that Guantanamo Bay exists at all.

Read:

Horrors of Camp Delta are exposed by British victims.

A good read on the same subject, is an interview with Michael Winterbottom

The Road to Guantanamo

Well, I think the Turks are shooting themselves in the foot if they hope to get into the EU.

The movie is libelous propaganda. The main premise is US troops slaughtering civilians and using tortured captives as a source for organs to sell on the US black market. Naturally the ‘doctor’ who slaughters people and slices out their livers is a JOOOOOOO.

I think it was the wife of the Turkish PM who said — “This makes me so proud of our boys.” She is referring to the Turkish actors who play special forces guys who go in and kill the bad Americans. Other quotes from Turks who have seen the movie: “I have never hated America as much as I do now!”.

    Bravo.

It shouldn’t be banned of course. But it does say a lot about the people who made it, and the people who enjoy it. It is deliberately inciteful and plays into the ‘blood libel’ anti-jewish propaganda or yore.

    Well Charles

Shall I start to count US movies showing Arabs as killers and terrorists??? or you will be a honest person and start to count them by yourself?

  4. Charles says:

    LB,

Arabs as killers? Nah. Those are usually middle aged white guys who have difficulty socializing with women.

As for terrorists, are you surprised? What on earth would make people associate terrorism with arabs? There is no empirical basis for that. It must be racism! Right TAI?

I suppose the difference is that the movies do not paint all arabs/muslims as terrorists, although the terrorists usually are muslims/arabs. You don’t get the difference and you never will. There is usually a very clear distinction between the radicals and the regulars. The movies have lots of good arabs/muslims who are trying to stop the terrorists, or American muslims who work with the FBI/CIA or whoever the Hollywood movie places in the good guy role. You probably think of them as ‘traitors’ as you watch the films.

British Mercenaries Shooting at Baghdad Motorists

Security contractors of the so-called “Victory” Group of the British mercenary firm Aegis Defense Services have committed the ultimate war crime: the indiscriminate killing of civilians as part of a “game”, not a video game but a real game of shooting Iraqi civilians as a form of entertainment, as revealed in a “trophy video” posted on an Aegis employees website. There are in fact several video clips, which suggests that the practice is not an isolated event.

TO VIEW THE ORIGINAL VIDEO CLIP CLICK:
WMV (Windows Media) or QT (Quicktime)

The Video was taken by an Aegis employee from the back of a vehicle.

  8. Jon says:

Glad you enjoyed the war porn.

  9. Nadia says:

LadyBird someone just made me aware of this:

Holywood for decades depicted middle eaststerns as stupid, backword, at best, and terrorists at worst. Now someone made a action movie to pay them back, in their style. What happened? Here it is, this is from the cradle of so called free speech…

Outcry in Germany as anti-Semitic film sells out
    By Tony Paterson in Berlin
    (Filed: 26/02/2006)

One for the free speech everbody, German style!”

  10. Keld Bach says:

I didn’t know the film was considered anti-Semitic — I thought it was mainly anti-American.

I haven’t seen it yet, but although it might be slightly exaggerating, it will take the Americans many years of hard work to regain the reputation they once had — at least in Europe. Abu Ghraib, Guantánamo, depleted uranium, shock and awe, etc. don’t fade away easily …

  11. LadyBird says:

Or maybe the Americans are playing this Anti-Semitics game???

  12. Charles says:

    KB

I didn’t know the film was considered anti-Semitic — I thought it was mainly anti-American.

As we all know, anti-jew/anti-US are hard to differentiate among muslims.

I think the reason it is considered anti-semetic is because one of the plot lines has to do with an evil joooooo US military doctor who disects tortured prisoners to steal their vital organs which are then sold to wealthy jooooos in the US.

Its sort of a modified ‘blood libel’ theme.

    Allah Akhbar!

Nothin to see here folks.…. please keep moving…
