You'll remember that on 14 September 2006 he, former Judge Abdullah Al-Amri (wanting out, no doubt), told Saddam that he had not been a dictator.According to Iraqi bloggers Elaph and Roads To Iraq, the Iraqi prime minister hurriedly replaced Abdullah Al-Amri with ... someone who is not a member of the International Criminal Court, has never served as a judge at any time previously, and has no experience in courts of law. At the time of his sudden elevation to the judiciary, he was working as "director of ceremonies" in the fortified Green Zone in Bagdad.Islammemo has investigated the background of Majid Mohamed Aribi (sometimes spelled Mohammed al-Uraibiy, or Mohammed Oreibi al-Khalifa) and found that he is a Shi'ite born in Basra in 1960. It is said that, after being rejected by military college, he worked as an accountant for his father's restaurant in Baghdad until some money went missing, and then his father put him to cleaning tables. He allegedly spent a year in prison for stealing money from a fellow worker at the restaurant. He was out of the country at the time of the US-led invasion of Iraq but returned then with elements of "Badr Brigade" and took revenge on those who, he believed, had caused him to be sent to prison: eg an elderly tea-seller and a law lecturer.
