Assassination in Lebanon

Pierre Gemayel killed today in Lebanon, Lebanese politicians harried to blame Syria.

But two days ago Samir jaja, said:

The Syrian government will try to assassinate Lebanese Ministers.

This is very bad, this is a Déjà vu from the Lebanese civil war, and I guess they are heading to a new one.

My personal thoughts are the following:

This was the only way Pro-American Lebanese politicians to block Hassan Nasrallh attempts of topple the government.

So let me guess your saying it was either the pro american side or the Israelis?

There is no chance whatsoever that it was the Syrians or Hisbollah, and there is no chance that the Iranians want to destabilize the government and start a civil war in Lebanon

You followed the events in Lebanon in the last months then you will know, this assassination will work against Hizballah plans.

Hizballah was planning to set his supporters into the streets and topple the pro-US government, now they can’t any more at least at the time being.

Yes but it also give one less vote in the cabinet to vote for a trial in the UN against Syria, You know March 14 or something like that. I read somewhere that if they kill two more ministers the government will fall altogether. No need to go to the streets if you can just undermine the legality of the regime.

I know there has to be some way to blame this on the Jew, and I am sure your working on it, but I don’t think most will believe. I think you guys just made your mistake.

  4. LadyBird says:

If they need to kill someone from 14 March group, why don’t they kill somebody with a real political power ie [harirri, Gaja..}, Pierre was an unknown politician.

This is working against the opposition, actually going to the streets will be much easier and cleaner.

  5. madtom says:

But less effective, going to the streets does not guarantee anything, specially if your afraid that your numbers will not really be enough. A few thousands, maybe.

  6. LadyBird says:

    A few thousands?

If they go to the streets they will be at least 1 million, you have no idea how popular Hizballah there.
