"1- during the siege of Falluja, the Sadr movt (was not a full fledged army then) gave support to the resistance fighters."
-Layla

I wasn't aware of that. I remember as far back as from the Tel Afar operation (which was same time to Fallujah) that Muqtada was sending his boys into the America-trained army to fight against Ahlus Sunnah, and in the case of Tel Afar, particularily against the Kurdi Ba'athists.

Also the article said Iran is helping Al Qa'eda, I highly doubt that. Since the time of stability in Afghanistan (i.e. Talibani era) Iran was funding the opposition to Al Qa'eda and Taliban and even during the war they supported the Americans and have since arrested a number of (alleged) Al Qaeda opps in Iran.

There are many false points in the linked article provided by Keld Bach.
1- during the siege of Falluja, the Sadr movt (was not a full fledged army then) gave support to the resistance fighters.
2- After the falluja period, the Sadr movt which was then considered a patriotic anti occupation movt, was bought and absorbed by Iran and convinced to join the Badr,Maghawir and other sub groups of shi'a militants.
3-Iran is not providing arms or funding to iraqi resistance fighters . Al Qaeda and Ansar al Islam are a VERY Tiny group of the Resistance. The main bulk of the resistance is made of nationalists and patriots , some are baathists and some are not. They are clearly aware of the iranian danger lurking.
I think the above article is twisting facts for political purposes by lumping them all together and I would use a discerning eye before making a final judgement.
