Fake UNHCR applications distributed among Iraqi refugees in Syria
As if their problems are not enough, some sick minded people in the “Green Zone� thought of distributing fake forms among Iraqi refugees in Syria asking detailed information about [names, addresses, photocopies of their ID's, and personal photos].
Revealed by Iraqirabita a form circulating among Iraqi refugees in Syria, claiming it is the “Office of the independent Iraqi Commissioner for Refugees�.
There are many reasons to consider this form is fake, providing data to some “Death Squads� organization:
1- There is no organization called “Office of the independent Iraqi Commissioner for Refugees� in Iraq.
2- The UNHCR is the only entity to work with Iraqi refugees in Syria, and any other organization should be part of its body or recognized by UNHCR [see here: Iraqis in Syria and Jordan: Many more registering].
3- There is no UNHCR logo on the application.
4- The email provided by this application does not end with XXX@UNHCR.com.
