Arab-Lebanese writer, polit­i­cal ana­lyst and Chief edi­tor of Al-Akhbar news­pa­per, Joseph Samaha, died today with heart attack, age 58.

Joseph Samaha, a com­mit­ted jour­nal­ist, and Arab nation­al­ist well known with his coura­geous arti­cles, ded­i­cated all his life and career to defend Arab issues against American/Israeli impe­ri­al­ism and dom­i­na­tion on Arab politics.

In his writ­ings about the Iraqi issue he said:

We’re not win­ning but we’re not los­ing!” is the head­line of the present moment in the Amer­i­can Pol­icy towards Iraq.…

.….instead of Bagh­dad being a start­ing point for change in Tehran, Dam­as­cus, Riyadh, Cairo, Ramal­lah and Jerusalem, these cap­i­tals are now invited, to each play its role, for to help in chang­ing the Amer­i­can pol­icy in Iraq, and secure a grace­ful exit for it.
