How the US tried to kill Al-Motanabi four years ago
To all Iraqis who are mourning the bombing of Al-Motanabi cultural street, it seems four years were enough for Iraqis to forget that the American barbarians bombing of Iraqi National Library in 2003 caused a serious damage to the libraryโs archive that survived thousands of years.
As you see in this rare image, shows the front entrance of the library and the damaged statue of Al-Motanabi himself, collections of invaluable books, manuscripts that thousand years old, journals, files, records, photographs and maps, were burned and what left was found under the water.
Their attempt to destroy our culture and heritage is failed, expect that they will try again and again.
But, who can destroy these words?

On Sunday, the Iraqi security forces backed by the U.S. forces managed to arrest Muhareb Abdullah Al-Jabouri - leader of an organization called Islamic State of Iraq - and five of his aides. One of the people responsible for the book market bombing and thousands of other car bombings.
There are thousands of *REAL* Sunni car bombs and hundreds of *REAL* Shia death squads that have killied tens of thousands of Iraqi civilivans and you Ladybird pretend that Americans were responsible for this one man’s death? Prove it.

You are right LB, they have DESTROYED everything including the historical and cultural life. Manuscripts some date from the 11th century were burned to ashes… Handwritten Korans, antiquarian books that are IMPOSSIBLE to find are GONE for ever…. They did the same with the Museum…
Rare pieces were found in Tel Aviv museum….A special new museum of Babylonian heritage was established soon after 2003 and a lot of the Iraqi artifacts were found there.!!!!
