		<description>Nice! I agree. However, when Egypt sent an ambassador the Iranians (it later emerged) had him killed because they did not want a Sunni Arab country to have established ties with Iraq. They feared meddling in the great Persian design.

I have it from a good source in the Egyptian foreign service that Hakim sent a letter two months after the ambassador was killed (body never found) addressing Egypt as &quot;The strongest Sunni nation of Egypt&quot;.

Not Arab.

So it is a double-edged sword. Damned if you do and damned if you don&#039;t. Nonetheless, given that the Saudis recently announced their &quot;intent&quot; to establish diplomatic ties, one cannot rule out the direct Cheney role in all of this.

Besides, Gates and Rice just did their little laps around Mecca with kha2in al 7arimain. So, since this is American pressure, I say no thank you.</description>
