Interesting how the western media tackled this issue, all of them started their headlines with “Syria says…”, and at least one newspaper published an article questioned the Syrian story.
With information came today from Turkey confirms the Syrian story, western media uses the same trick saying “Turkey Says…”
Syrian newspaper tishreen editorial, criticized the American silence about Isralis airplanes violating Syrian airspace saying sarcastically:
The American silence, could not be explained only to encourage Israel, this is proof of the sincerity of American peaceful intentions, a message of peace for the peoples of the region… Mr. Bush asks for a Peace conference and while he Blessed Israeli terrorism and air piracy.
The article also criticized Arabs silence saying:
What sad is not what comes from the enemy, because he is already an enemy, sad that it comes from [Arab] brothers running silent about this Israeli piracy as it occurred in other planet beyond the Milky Way!
Then the article asks:
However, we are entitled to ask about the motives behind this new Israeli violation
Syria-news guessed one motivation
Israeli media talked about Israeli air force reconnaissance on Syrian territories and the question is: what is the justification for the heavy weights of munitions that Israeli aircraft had to dispose to increase the speed? Why Israeli planes carried those heavy weights of ammunition?
Dr. Khalil Hussein on Middle East on line wrote about the wider motivation picture:
