Cole bomber Al-Badawi was pardoned by the US

Since yesterday and news agencies reporting the release of Jamal Al-Badawi, and as reported by the CNN quoting the US Justice Department saying:

We are dismayed and deeply disappointed in the government of Yemen’s decision not to imprison [Jamal al-Badawi]

But, are they disappointed?

Yemeni newspaper Alwasat, reported Thursday that the release of Al-Badawi was a deal done with the Americans, namely with Francis Townsend who visited Yemen days before Al-Badawi’s release, and reminded Ali Abdullah Saleh that Yemen South and North unity in exchange with this deal.

Saleh knew that the Americans behind recent protest in Radfan, where South Yemenis celebrated their October revolution for the first time after the unity, ans asked to separate the South again, Saleh answered them with bullets killing at least four.
