Rumors: Hashimi to replace Talabani as president of Iraq

Ali­raqnews reported today the following:

Reli­able infor­ma­tion that the meet­ing took place between British Prime Min­is­ter Gor­don Brown with al-Maliki with the pres­ence of the Amer­i­can ambas­sador in Lon­don, al-Maliki was informed that there will be changes in the for­ma­tion of the Iraqi state.

Jalal Tal­a­bani abjures his post as pres­i­dent of Iraq to Tariq Hashimi, and Nuri al-Maliki on the pre­mier­ship Adel Abdel Mahdi.

The pres­i­dency of the so-called Iraqi par­lia­ment to a mem­ber of the Kur­dish alliance is expected to be Fouad Mas­soum, and For­eign Min­is­ter Hosh­yar Zebari will be replaced by Hamed Al-Bayati Iraqi ambas­sador to the United Nations.
