Internationalizing the Lebanese situation

The target was a fake convoy used by the American ambassador in Lebanon Jeffrey Feltman for security reasons, the bombers know what they are doing.

Since the beginning of the bombings and assassinations series, three years ago this is the first time an explosion targeted diplomats, and specifically American diplomat, which means that the “red line” fell entirely and it is a message to Washington that the international confrontation is now open in the Lebanese arena.

It is certain that the American will read this message carefully, and their position after the explosion will not be the same before the explosion, a déjà-vu from the American embassy bombing in April of the year 1983, and the Marines headquarter in Beirut airport six months after that!.

The other objective is to internationalization of the Lebanese situation and to pull the Lebanese file out of the Arab League hand to the Security Council.

Some sources talk about a new UN resolution against Syria similar to resolution 1559

What Al-Hayat wrote today, totally fits the scenario “King Abdullah –of Saudi Arabia– disappointed with the Syrian leadership”.
