Iraqi government still reporting confusing statements about the group, one official says they are Soldiers of Heaven, the other says they are “Mahdawia”.
Badger wrote his one research on the subject but he stopped at where to put this group, he also linked to Reidar Visser’s report on the group where he calls them Mahdists or mahdawia and this is confirmed today on Al Sharq Al awsat [confirmed also yesterday by the group’s official statement], the group claims they are peaceful group and they are not “Soldiers of Heaven”, but here is the interesting part:
We are not an armed group…..but we don’t believe in following a movement of an imam [Shiites follows different orders, led by high rank Ayatollahs]….therefore, the Ayatollahs council in Najaf decided to use their connection in the government against us.
This report doesn’t explain recent fights in Basra and Nasriyah.
This is reported on Al arabiya in first fight in Najaf about 6–7 months ago against “Soldiers of Heaven”.
In Iran in the early eighties and at the beginning of the Iranian revolution, a group called Al Furqan emerged, they believed that the Shiites Imams and Ayatollahs must not participate in the government and politics because this lead to the delay of Mahdi appearance, and anybody responsible for this delay should be killed.
What also interesting is that the Iraqi army arrested [see the images] the spiritual leader of the group “Al Yamani”, and he (confessed) the following:
There are different officials of this organization… funded from abroad, particularly the UAE, and our symbol is the Star of David, the Star of Israel.
Was he telling the truth or he said that under torture?
The nearest link to the “Star of David” question is as I think comes from one of the Shiites theology books called “Al Kafi” wrriten by Al Kelini (939 AD):
In his return, he will rule the world with David’s law.
