Egypt rejected an American-Israeli proposal to re-settle 800,000 Palestinians in Sinai

Accord­ing to almes­ry­oon news, Egypt rejected an Israeli-American pro­posal to reset­tle 800,000 Pales­tin­ian in Sinai.

Sources told the news­pa­per that Egypt informed Israel its rejec­tion to any re-settlement projects of the Pales­tini­ans in the Egypt say­ing that the refugees’ right to return to their home­land is decided by the United Nations.

This came at a time when Israel threat­ens Egypt with reduc­ing the Amer­i­can aid if Egypt keeps the neg­a­tive posi­tion with the reset­tle­ment of Pales­tini­ans on its territory.

Egypt threat­ened to freeze the Egypt-Israel cross­ings agree­ment, and can­cel the exchange of secu­rity infor­ma­tion treaty with as response to the Israeli re-settlement proposal.
