Mahdi Army rearming itself

American forces mediating in Anbar

Al-Hayat reported that the Americans and the Kurds gave Maliki’s the “Green Light” to bypass “Al-Tawafiq Front” from his new government to choose Sunnis ministers outside the “Front” [probably from the “Awakening Councils”], but a very confusing report on Kuwaiti newspaper Awan saying that the Americans are mediating between the Islamic Party [part of Al-Tawafiq] and the Anbar Awakening Council, and you can notice Hashimi’s good mode towards the Awakening Councils in his interview today on Elaph.

[I don’t know what is the Americans plan? Is it to take the Islamic Party out of its alliance and isolates “Al-Tawafiq”?]

I read recently many reports on Arab newspapers about how Maliki’s government are missing the “Awakening Councils” opportunity, last report appeared today on Al-Qabas called exactly the same, the writer says:

The “Awakening” leaders are neglected by the government because the Defense Ministry and the Interior Ministry are dominated by powerful Shiite parties.

National Reconciliation

According to one Iraqi website, preparation for the national reconciliation meeting in Cairo is already started yesterday, no mention Iraqi resistance but most of the powerful Iraqi parties will participate in the meeting, the report mentions that a group of the participants are already arrived to Amman in their way to Cairo.

Mahdi Army re-arming itself

With all the confused reports about Al-Sadr and his Mahdi Army, newspaper Al-Wasat contacted sources who revealed that leaders of Mahdi Army gave their orders to their fighters to prepare themselves and be ready for coming conflicts with the Iraqi army and the occupation forces.

Also the newspaper reported that the structure of Mahdi Army is change by dividing it into many small groups, but it is unknown what is the nature and tasks of these groups.
