Sadrists: American instructions forced Maliki to withdraw his threats

From Al-arabiya report in Bagh­dad, Amer­i­can tanks pen­e­trate Sadr-City after the Muq­tada Al-Sadr call to his fol­low­ers to change the des­ti­na­tion from Najaf to Bagh­dad, res­i­dents fled the streets to their houses and mosques.

Also AL-Sadr rep­re­sen­ta­tive in par­lia­ment “AL-Araji” warned AL-Maliki with a deci­sive bat­tle if the gov­ern­ment keeps con­fronting the Sadrists, he also said that Maliki asked the Awak­en­ing Coun­cils in Anbar to attack AL-Shulla neigh­bor­hood in Bagh­dad [Al-Sadr strong­hold], but the Coun­cils refused to attack the Shiites.

Accord­ing to Sadrists web­site “Nahrain Net”, Maliki with­draw his threats and issued a freeze on all raids came after instruc­tions given to Maliki from the Amer­i­can embassy says that if he keeps tar­get­ing the Sadrists Bagh­dad will fall in their hands.
