Source denies Iran involvement in Basra fights

Is Petraeus lying?, contrary to what Petraeus said that “Iran militias joined the battle in Basra”, a Kurdish source told AKI the following:

A shift in Iran policy towards Al-sadr trend, Iran did not intervene in the fights in Basra, and did not offer a single bullet to support Mahdi Army, there is a strong possibility of secret agreement with the United States that Iran stops supporting Mahdi Army”.

He also revealed one of the many reasons of the fights against the Sadrists:

[The Sadrists] stand against “Federalism” .….

Al-hayat sources reveal that Muqtada returned to Iraq and he is right now in Najaf, but his spokesman denied this information [who wants to bet that he was in Beirut? As my own sources in Lebanon told me].

If banning Al-Sadr from the political process is a realistic decision and put in practice [Al-Araji from Sadrists says there are 28 militias] then this means that all the people associated with the “Awakening Councils” can not participate in the political process also, according Jordanian newspaper alghad writer Mahmoud Abu Rumaan:

According to my own reliable sources, during this month the “National Movement for Reform and Development” will be announced which represents the “Awakening Councils”, the 1920 Revolution Brigades and tribal chiefs expected to compete with the Islamic party representing the Sunnis.

By conclusion, means representing the Sunnis in the political process.
