Americans – Sadrists reached a deal?

Rumors reported by two days ego by Elaphabout Allawi mediation between the Sadirsts and the Americans [according to Allwai, the Sadrists asked him].Iraqi writer Zaid al-Zubaidi says on al-Akhbar that to stop bombarding of Sadr-City by the American occupation forces, the Sadrists have to handover a list of persons who are cooperating with Iran, to extend Mahdi Army freeze for at least a year and to stop the attacks on the American forces in exchange for not to follow other Sadrists leaders, the writer linked “other leaders” with the re-activation of the arrest warrant issued for al-Sadr in 2004.

The writer also linked all the events above with the rumors of unrest among the Sadrists , questioning their leader’s credibility, comparing his deeds to his words of not negotiating with the occupation forces.

The writer refers to “alrafedain” post about the CIA managed to infiltrate the Mahdi Army, I am not sure if the report is true or not but the arrest of top MA leader today in Basra did not raised any protest by the Sadrists.

P.S.

Lebanese newspaper as-Safir published many reports on one topic “Muqtada al-Sadr“, few are very good read.

    Well, ummm, I doubt it.
    Name those cooperating with Iran?
    Ummmm.
    Hakim, Allawi. al Maliki, etc.
The ones cooperating with Iran are the pro-Iranian, former SCIRI leaders and others who achieved legitimacy in the last election.
The Sadrists are about the only Shia group opposed to greater Iranian influence over Iraq’s future.
The Sadrists are the most nationalistic of the Shia, and are on par with their Sunni counterparts , all of whom rose up against the Us’ illegal invasion.
I doubt that al Sadr is going to be willing to negotiate with the US over anything except withdrawal, ending the invasion/occupation of Iraq.
