Sadrists negotiate the disband of Mahdi Army

It is not only that al-Sadr tried to criticize and distance himself from Iran yesterday, even his information/cultural advisor wrote an article with harsh critic on his group the Sadrists, al-Marwani under the title “We are paying the price of own mistakes”, says:

1– One of our first mistakes, was entering — or the mechanism of entering– the political process, some people pushed our leader to remain silent facing the wish of the majority.

At that time we had two options to choose from, [first option] follow our leader and stay way from the political process as an influential opposition force, and play our role to halt any political decision that works in the benefit of the occupation…, or [second option] to enter the election as one, unified [independent] list, the win is guaranteed at that time because of the many support to the Sadrists among the people.

What we did is that we created our own third option, we entered [the election] in two scattered lists, at this we lost the secret of our strength, and we lost our national unity project, the world saw us joining the occupiers to form an occupation government, here we are right now fight in many front to regain something we already had.

2– Our leader told us to split our effort between armament, education, media and social unity, what happened is that unspecialized took the lead, pushing away the intellectuals and the academics…the result; instead of building our own communication media to confront the occupation media, our media failed and collapsed until the point that we are expecting the mercy of some other media, kindly to publish our statements or our answers to accusations.

3– [We missed] to use the effectiveness of our regional surrounding, we were supposed to form three delegates to strength our local, Arab, international position and give the others the opportunity to hear us, –for example– we didn’t notice an attempt from the Sadrists parliamentarians to reach the international community.

4– We kept our giant institutions locally only that we missed to communicate with the others and forgot the huge number of the Sadrists abroad,.…until this day not a single Sadrists organization even tried to communicate with an Arab or international institutions…

Back to the headline, al-Rafedain said that Muqtada al-Sadr to disband Mahdi Army soon, the website said that that the Sadrists delegation met with recently with Talabani and the speaker of the parliament al-mashhadani was fully authorized to negotiate all the conditions, but also some information about pressure faced al-sadr inside his own circle, especially from supreme cleric al-Ha’ari in Qom — Iran.
