American military delegation, secretly visited Azhar asking the Sheikh to condemn the Iraqi resistance

After Egypt­ian news­pa­per Al-Maryoon revealed yes­ter­day that the Amer­i­can ambas­sador in Egypt Mar­garet Scobey secretly met with jour­nal­ists and news­pa­pers chief edi­tors seek­ing to improve the Amer­i­can image in the Arab coun­tries with an adds cam­paign aims on the Amer­i­can role in “spread­ing democ­racy” around the world, focuses on the “pos­i­tive” Amer­i­can pol­icy in the Pales­tine — Israel con­flict and the sit­u­a­tion in Iraq.

Today the same news­pa­per revealed another scan­dal say­ing that an Amer­i­can mil­i­tary del­e­ga­tion of 14 mem­bers vis­ited the Chief of the Egypt­ian Al-Azhar Uni­ver­sity “Tantawi” [Sheikh Al-Azhar], behind the closed door they asked him to issue a state­ment con­firms that Islam rejects “ter­ror­ism” and con­demns the vio­lence in Iraq and Iraqi resis­tance oper­a­tions against for­eign mil­i­tary presence.
