Maliki secretly met with the oppositions in Jordan

Maliki met the opposition in Jordan

Jordanian newspaper revealed that Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki held an announced, secret meetings with leaders of political oppositions from the pre-occupation government in the Royal Hotel in Amman – Jordan.

The sources confirmed that al-Maliki met with Iraqi guests, political leaders and tribal chiefs, the meeting ended in a political reconciliation.

The newspaper didn’t mentioned any names of the oppositions or if they are resistance groups or not.

Sistani’s position still uncertain

There are two versions of Sistani’s opinion about the U.S. — Iraq security agreement, through Al-Karbala’i his representative in the Friday speech.

The first version reported:

Sistani’s representative rejects secret chapter to be included in the agreement.

This suggests that he don’t mind signing the agreement.

The second version said:

Sistani’s representative, appealed to the agreement’s rejecters to keep their positions.

This suggests that he disagree with signing the agreement.

New political Bloc

An interesting alliance between Ja’fari and Allawi will be announced tomorrow according to Al-Hurriyanews. Although there are fears among the United Iraqi Alliance as the news site reported, that the new bloc will dominate approximately 95 seats in the parliament, compared to the 83 seats to the UIA [more bad news for the UIA on Wasat Online, Al-Hakim is not interested to join the Dawa Party in the election].

Except their desperation to power, there is nothing common between these two. I don’t think this new Bloc is going to survive for long time.
