Roads to Iraq

Yet another Iraqi Blog

Abu Al-Abed expired

I read this story about a week ago on Iraqi Rabita, Sa’ad A’araibi aka “Abu Al-Abed” expired, but I waited for more confirmation and it came today on Al-Hayat:

Abu Al-Abed accused the Iraqi government and the American forces on using the “Awakening Council” as a tool to wipe out the armed factions in Baghdad, after the Americans and the government failed to do so.

The two interesting in Iraqi Rabita report:

- Jordanian government asked Abu AL-Abed to leave the country because Jordan doesn’t want to risk their interests with the Iraqi government by Abu Al-Abed presence [I guess that he is in Syria right now, if the Syrians accepts him as a refugee].

- The Americans [and Maliki's government] appointed a “substitute” called Mohammad Al-Kuhli to take over the Awakening Councils in Baghdad.

Ayatollah Fadlallah’s Fatwa

Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah issued a Fatwa [full Fatwa] says that any Iraqi authority signs an agreement with the Americans is an illegitimate authority [from the religious point of view].

He also calls for an Arab – Islamic initiative to take over the American tasks of training the Iraqi army.

The big issue with this, is that Fadlallah is one the supreme-references followed by Dawa Party members [Maliki], breaking his words can lead to harsh consequences.

Resistance leaflets in Babil

I am not sure if this is true story or not, my doubts are this is a preparation for another military campaign in the Babil province. Maliki enjoys the attention of the American media which describes him as a hero. He must keep this image ‘till the election.
