I am not sure if people understood the seriousness of Kirkuk provincial law crisis? It is not about Kirkuk, it is about showing muscles.
This is to refresh your memory:
Not long time ago I reported about a new parliamentary political bloc meant to block Maliki’s government decisions.
The group issued a statement today saying that house speaker deputy Al-Atya is not telling the truth:
The session started with the presence of 151 MP and the counts held in front of the [TV] cameras. The secret voting started with 140 MP, 127 voted “yes” and 3 voted “no”, 1 Mp passed and there were 9 empty papers.
The signatures belong to the same groups I mentioned above [interesting to see Ja’fari’s new party among them].
Voting for the provincial law, for the first time the same group demonstrated their decisive effectiveness in the political process.
This is a real warning for Maliki and Al-Hakim. Think about all the coming decisions need to be voted on in the parliament such as the security agreement and Al Hakim’s dream of southern province.
