Today report on Kirkuk

At least one news site reported that Turkey put more troops on the borders of Iraq, preparing any situation development in Kirkuk [not confirmed yet].

As for the Americans, they keep themselves behind the screen, but the closest hint came from Mahmud Othman member of the Kurdish alliance said:

The American-side exercises great pressure on the parliamentary blocs to reach a compromise agreement.

For sure, the Americans interested to solve the problem as fast as possible and that is before the end of Bush presidential term.

Interesting to read that the Islamic Party asked for more time to study the the previous decision but the more interesting is that the party is trying to pull itself away from the Kurds. Al Samra’i told Radio Sawa:

Our agreement with the Kurds doesn’t reached an alliance stage.

At least we know what happened today in the parliament and why the negotiations failed, Elaph reported the following:

[At today sitting] 11 political blocs managed to rally 110 MP’s, threatened to reject the “Presidential Council” rejection.

Question:

Who is the biggest loser in Kirkuk crisis?

Have a guess [not the Kurds].
