Sadr asks Shiites to sign a blood oath of loyalty

Another show of power issued today by Muqtada Al-Sadr [image here].

In a statement issued today, Muqtada Al-Sadr asks Shiites [not necessary his followers] to sign a “pledge of loyalty” oath to the “awaiting Al-Mahdi” [occulted Mahdi] with their blood.

With the first signature is from Muqtada himself, the covenant contains four points in which people can agree upon to sign their names [or fingerprints] at the end of the paper.

To be committed to Quran as an approach, Sunna [practice] and the most holly Atra [descended from the profit house] as deeds, and I will do my best to commit to Mohammad’s Sharia.

- I am committed to liberate Muslim lands in general and Iraq in specific from the armies of darkness, whom I mean the invaders and the occupation whoever they are with Jihad and military resistance or jihad and informational resistance against secular, western ideas, as its ordered by Hawza, my hope and dignity and my leader.

- I will make the believers and the vulnerable in general and in Iraq in specific brothers of mine in their blood, money, dignity are forbidden for me until the judgment day.

To serve them is my duty, to love them is my goal. I will lead them to right path after setting myself on the right path as it is came in the Quran, the Atra [see above] ordered us to be behave and talk gently [to others] will be my approach.

- I will make the enemies of God, and his profit and the family of Mohammad [A’al Al-Bayt also means people who are descended from Mohammad family, mostly refers to the “big three” Ali, Hussein and Hassan] as my enemies if they are the invaders, the occupation, the unbelievers and the Nawasib [originally, this word used by Sunnis and Shiites to describe any person or a group who do not believe in Ali as the fourth Imam. Nowadays, this word used by the Shiites to describe Sunnis who don’t believe in the holiness of the Hi-rank Shiites Imams] or others from bad and twisted sects.

I will not negotiate with them, I will not appease them, and I will join them as long as I live because this [these acts] causes the delay of Al-Mahdi appearance and this is forbidden on me.

Name.….….…

Resident (country).….…..

Signature.….……

In this oath:

- Sadr is asking all the Shiites community and not his followers only.

- He is not asking a pledge of loyalty to himself but to the occulted-Mahdi.

- Sadr used the words like occupation and invaders in Iraq mix them with religious term and values.

These three points above will attract many Shiites to sign this document, but still unknown what is the real maneuver behind it.

I suppose Sadr and his shiites have not drunk enough Iraqi blood, guess more religiosity and blood convenants are needed for the Mahdi to finally land — from Qum of course…
