American airport and spying center near Iran border - Halabja
First, there is a very interesting statement issued by Al-Adeeb [No 2 in Maliki's Dawa Party], I think it is related to the headline in some way.
He said the following:
Iran armed the special forces [in Iraq] not for the civil war but to confound the American government in Iraq.
Iran and the U.S. have a troubled relations and Iran sees the American forces presence in Iraq as a threat. They armed these forces as preventive measures and they do not want to embarrass the Iraqi government.
He didn’t say which “special forces” he means, Muqtada Al-Sadr’s “special forces” or yet another forces???
Iranian Fars News interviewed Fouad Salih the governor of city Halabja - bordering Iran - and he showed worries about an American project to build an airport near the city saying:
The Americans asked us for a piece of ground to build an airport.
Member of the Halabja Council added: “We have enough problems here, we need modern hospital not an airport. The Kurdistan Regional Government has allocated about 3000 dunums of land to build this airport.”
The same report with more details reported on AKI.
The airport is very large and Halabja is a small town. It doesn’t need to build a big airport like this in an area that is near the border.
According to a Saudi Arabia newspaper Iranian source, the so called “airport” includes an intelligence and spying center about 11 Kilometer from the Iranian border.

This has come up before (and the amount of land allocated seems to have grown) see:

Those links were working up to a few hours ago - if they stop working we’ve got the full text of both under our link is here tag.
We’ve also got a report of the American invaders’ spokeweasel denying it under that tag. The direct link to the posting is:
