Failed military coup in Saudi Arabia

Saudi security source told Aafaq newssite that Saudi military officers and member s of the National Guards tried to thwart a military coup to overthrow army officers loyal to the current Saudi king Abdullah.

The source said that Major Ahmed Maiad Zahrani, a National Guard officer in the Riyadh backed by a Saudi prince in the royal family has recruited approximately 150 officers of National Guards, arrested later for further questioning and charged with conspiracy.

The plan was to overthrow the Saudi National Guards leader, who is loyal to king Abdullah and to prevent the selection of other member of the family as crown prince after the death of recent crown prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz [who is seriously sick].

King Abdullah has appointed his eldest son Miti’b as deputy of the National Guards, after disagreements among the sons and grandsons of Saudi Arabia founder late King Abdulaziz led to form Bay’ah Council by senior members of the royal family, to vote for the crown prince from three candidates named by the king.

Jolly decent reporting, LB. There’s always been this talk that Pakistan and Saudi-Arabia would be Cheney’s next targets after Iraq — and now what we got here? First Musharraf gone. And now a coup in Saudi-Arabia? A coincidence? Let’s see…

Cheney is actually a Saudi supporter since both Pakistan and Saudi are helping US administration to go according to the plan. I believe changes in Pakistan is the result of recent events in Russia. Musharaf clearely mentioned that they will not help US in attacking Iran therefore he’s out.
Saudi have so much influence over the current US administration and it will continue. Pakistan and Saudi are training and backing Taliban and other terrorist organizations which is actually what US want (or owns!). In my opinion the axis of evil is Saudi and no one else. There is a need for a big change in Saudi. Enough of need extremists.

We, as “poorly informed Finns” lack the expertise to evaluate the Saudi scene, but those waging the war are all-out satanists so that sooner than later — if getting the slightest chance for that — they’ll backstab all their helpers quite dependless of the present friendly relations.

In this sense Cheney might be a “Saudi supporter”, but only because of not having had a chance to backstab the Saudi…
