Gates in Iraq to boost SOFA agreement

A weekly ritual that Zebari “expecting Sofa is completed and very close to be signed”, although the Accordance Front revealed today that Gates visit to Iraq is to boost SOFA negotiations:

There is no doubt that Gates surprise visit to Iraq reflects that the agreement between Baghdad and Washington is in a critical situation and perhaps it reached a dead end.

Gates visit to Iraq and before him Condoleezza Rice, to find a satisfactory exit for both countries.

But the most interesting position, is this one issued by Ammar Al-Hakim to Aswat Al-Iraq saying:

We do not have a position from the security agreement but what we have are our national basics.

Shadowy answer, reflects the Islamic Supreme Council’s dilemma, if they support the agreement they will lose votes in the provincial election, if the oppose the agreement they will lose heavily in the government.
