Roads to Iraq

There are many predictions of a coming coup in Iraq by Iraqi politicians, Chalabi for example, in his meeting with Media personalities he said the following:

Military coup by one of the Shiite political blocs is something expected.

Second prediction came from Barzani in his interview with Aljazeera yesterday he said:

A military coup in the country is possible if the situation remains as it is.

Barzani harshly attacked Maliki in this interview saying that he wants to rule Iraq alone and marginalize the Kurds, these kind of attacked were the editorials of many Kurdish newspapers since yesterday.

Probably to legitimize any action will taken by the Kurds, Kurdish newspaper Al-Saot Al-Akhar counts six points saying that Maliki’s confrontation with the Kurds is already a coup against the constitution.

Former Kurdish minister Sami Shorash went a step further saying that Maliki is involved in an Iranian – Syrian plan to hijack Kurdish democracy.

Although Shorash’s article called “Kurdish withdrawal from the political process” but he do not expects that will happened and the Kurds have another plan in mind, which is to outset Maliki.
