The “coup” on Maliki is still a “juicy” subject for many writers. Abbas Al-Nuri says if a coup happened and especially in this critical time then it will be done by one of the powerful political bloc to gain the Americans support, but he confirms that it is just a rumor:

The subject of the coup is created because there are many goals to score behind such rumors.

Agrees Iraqi political analyst Dr. Hussein Abd Al-Emir, who concludes that the coup question brought by Supreme Council as a warning to Maliki [or indirectly to Dawa Party] before the provincial election because of the increasing popularity of the Prime Minister [remember that Chalabi said a Shiite coup].

The writer said that the politicians who talks about the coup [Adil Abd Al-Mahdi and Al-Hakim] know very good that the Iraqi army is unable to coup against the government because of the lack of arms and observed by the Americans.

The Supreme Council’s warning message to Maliki will be followed by other messages in the coming two months, and probably it will be a campaign against the tribal leaders who support Maliki.
