Talabani under the U.S. pressure to sign SOFA

After return­ing from his visit to the U.S. [for health rea­sons], Tal­a­bani said that he was under pres­sure from the American-side to sign SOFA.

He also expressed his wor­ries about the Amer­i­can threats to close all the Iraqi assets in the U.S. and con­fis­cat­ing the Iraqi oil.

This Iraqi MP told Iran­ian Mehr News that the gap between the Iraqi-side and the Amer­i­can side in SOFA nego­tiantions is too big.
