Pressure on the Palestinians before the end of Bush’s term

Trying to score at least one tiny achievement, French sources told Al-Sharq Al-Awsat the following:

The U.S. is putting pressure on the Palestinians to sign an agreement with the Israelis before the end of Bush term. The agreement contains the progress made in the peace process in Annapolis summit.

The Palestinians refused to sign for two reasons:

- It would be accepted by Israel and the U.S. as a [real] agreement.

- The document rejects the right of return for the Palestinian refugees.
