Two articles criticize the U.S. pressure on the Iraqi government came from an unexpected sources. The articles published today on newspaper reflect the countries opinions because both are official newspaper.

But let start with this one [which is not one of the two] published today on Iraqi Dawa newspaper which mirrors Maliki’s Dawa Party opinion. The article “criticizes” the statement issued by the U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates:

In his statement, Minister Gates could not hide the signs of desperation, referring to accepting SOFA or his U.S. forces will allow the violence of Al-Qaeda and other hidden forces to back again

The Minister [Gates] forgot that facts on the ground have changed, and the Iraqi people imposed security when they rejected all kinds of ethnic and sectarian violence and tension.

Jordanian Addustour newspaper editorial which is the Jordanian government opinion says that “The security agreement is a mandate with a new guise”:

The threats of keeping article VII of the United Nation or sign the agreement is a bullying policy and violation of article 52 of Vienna Law.

Washington should accept the decision made by the Iraqi people and get rid of its colonial illusion.

And this one from Egyptian semi-official newspaper Al-Gomhuria:

The U.S. Defense Minister and his top officers threatened Iraq with dire consequences if they fail to sign the agreement with his government.

A Security agreement which gives dubious legitimacy to the presence of the occupation forces, gives them immunity, and doesn’t punish the crimes of the brutal killing and torture of the Iraqi people.

Large faction of the Iraqi people showed their rejection to this agreement … But the U.S. administration insists on humiliating the Iraqis and submits the agreement against their will.

The Iraqi national resistance against the occupation is the only force can face of American threats and force the occupation forces to withdraw unconditionally.

  1. When did the I.S government ever care about Iraqis? They spill Iraqi blood for their own ambitions, which has happened both directly and indirectly since the 50’s. What’s more surprising is that american citizens buy this crap and say that Iraqis should shut up and let the U.S do whatever they want since they “saved us” from a tyrant who managed to rise to power with their help to BEGIN WITH.

One could describe MANY Americans as flocks of dumb sheeps who’ve gathered to jump off from a cliff.
