Why this sudden “positive” reaction from Maliki’s government to open the deadlock regarding SOFA?

If you didn’t see Ammar Al-Hakim’s interview with Reuters saying:

We think there is still a chance for consultations or negotiations by the Iraqi and American delegations.

Which reflects his worries about the recent U.S. threats, not only the ones counted by McClatchy “U.S. lists services it’ll cut off if Iraq rejects pact on troops” but the already started as reported on Gulfnews today saying:

The U.S. occupation forces transferred a number of officials of the former Iraqi regime to Cropper prison run by the U.S. forces, refuse to hand them over to the Iraqi authority.

Lawyer, Badi’ Izzat Aref said that this move is part of Washington pressures to force the Iraqi government to pass a Security Agreement.

Al-Shrq Al-Aswat quoted member of Sadr Trend in the parliament “Asma Al-Mousawi” about the U.S. raid in Syria saying that this is what warned of before and we knew that Iraq’s territories are going to be used by the Americans to launch attacks on the neighboring countries.

The Sadrists rejected the Kurds demand of secret voting on SOFA’s accord in the parliament saying:

Those who ask something like this are collaborating with the occupation.
