Al-Arabiya reported that Syria reduced its military forces and border guards on the Syria — Iraq border [cutting diplomatic ties with Iraq also], but what I heard [from my own sources] is that Syria withdrew all its forces from the border [which means giving the green light to armed groups to cross to Iraq].
Syrian ambassador in Washington Imad Mustafa told the Syrian semi-official Al-Watan that the American administration is “shocked” by the Syrian reaction and the administration is still searching for more convincing reason for the raid. They even don’t want to give answer to Arab ambassadors asked the U.S. for more details.
One Saudi newssite Elaph claims that Lebanese sources informed them that the U.S. raid was preventive strike to stop Syria from invading North Lebanon under the cover of chasing terrorists. The source said that Syrian wants to U.S. the power vacuum in U.S. and Israel to implement this plan [Lebanese Prime Minister Saniora said yesterday that there is no connection between the Raid on Syria and Lebanon. Still, it is a Saudi Media].
Thanx, LB. Here’s what IAI has to say on the topic: http://www.adnkronos.com/AKI/English/Security/?id=3.0.2657036487
(just dismiss the AKI rot at the bottom).
All the very best to you, GOOD to have you around.
