Earlier reports said that Obama’s visit is the reason behind Maliki’s decision to cancel his visit to Iran, but Al-Khaleej reported that Tehran rejected receiving Maliki for security reasons.

Putting one condition for his visit which is to fly from Baghdad, Iran wants to allow the Iranian intelligence to search the airplane before the take off.

Other suggestions said that Maliki headed back to Baghdad to face his “double-trouble” with the:

- Kurdish Coalition: Al-Diyar TV reported that Maliki is planning to stay in Kirkuk for at least two months to “solve” the disputes in the city as he did before in Basra [I think he wants to observe the formation of the so called “Support-Councils”].

- Shiites Coalition: In his press conference, Al-Mashhadani said that there is a plan to oust AL-Maliki, but the most important is what Adil Abd Al-Mahdi said to rally the public opinion against Al-Maliki:
Maliki is planning to stay as a Prime Minister for the coming 50 years, do you accept this?
