On demand opposition

That is pathetic, Abdul Ameer Al-Rukabi the “designed” opposition after his negotiations with Maliki government [see this English report ], wrote a very weird article on Al-Quds Al-Arabi called “What I told Maliki and what he told me in Baghdad”. Don’t let the title mislead you because 3/4 of the article about Maliki’s openness, intelligent and his good initiative, the guy went so low saying; Maliki is a genius”.

Guess what his demand from Maliki is? A central government, that’s all, as if there is some kind of telepathic communication between Al-Rukabi and Maliki.

Al-Rukabi claims that he represents the oppositions and they sent him to Baghdad to negotiate with the government, but who are the oppositions?

The Ba’ath party rejected Maliki government saying there is no way to cut a deal with a government appointed by the occupation, the Islamic resistance refused this initiative calling it “media trick” saying:

There are 4 million displaced Iraqis and refugees in other countries, before they announce a reconciliation initiative, Maliki should repair the six years damages caused by the government and the occupation.

Mohammad Kharoub on Jordain Al-Rai pinpointed the problems with Maliki’s initiatives:

Can we count on a state ran by three sectarian factions? … The nature of the negotiations based on containing the opposition forces in one box …Al-Maliki chose to strengthen his position in the political conflict that took place recently and probably will escalate further with the approach of the parliamentary elections… Maliki’s tactics in his relation with the opposition (till now) never reached the strategic level…Everything going on are maneuvers and media test balloons.

Still there are no reactions from the Supreme Council and the Sadrists on Maliki’s initiative, stay tuned I will update you if read or see something.
