Obama’s message to Iran in the Arab media

The world respects the strong only and treats the weak with contempt. Obama’s message yesterday to the Iranian people and their leaders is a good example.

Moderate Arabs were also criticized by the Jordanian website Kul Al-Urdon saying:

Saudi Arabia and Egypt, both took a hostile position towards Iran, and tried to form an Arab alliance with Israel against Iran, lost this battle also.

Tariq Al-Hamid for example on AL-Sharq Al-Awsat said:

One of the “soft power” elements used by Washington in Obama’s speech is that he talked about the bright side of the Iranian culture, art, culture and music … The old days and not the revolutionary Mullahs era.

Al-Rashid on the same newspaper has a problem with Obama saying:

Obama softness is more dangerous than Bush’s aggressiveness … We are trying to read Obama’s mind rather than to understand the Iranians. Bush was clear, the Iranians are ambiguous.… We don’t know in which direction Obama goes.

Many newspapers and writers are still in shock, in the coming days there will be more opinions and analysis on Arab media.… stay tuned.
