Obama– Assad meeting in the G8 summit

Accord­ing to Alkhaleej:

Egypt­ian sources told the news­pa­per that Wash­ing­ton dis­cusses a pos­si­ble Obama– Assad meet­ing as part of the US new Mid­dle East approach.

The source expects that the meet­ing will be accord in the G8 sum­mit in Italy next June.

On the same issue, the news­pa­per also revealed that the US admin­is­tra­tion briefed the Egypt­ian gov­ern­ment about the new Mid­dle East pol­icy. Also Wash­ing­ton informed its allies in the Mid­dle East that Iran is still a threat to the region’s stability.
