Egypt obtained infor­ma­tion from French and Pales­tin­ian offi­cials say that Qatar wanted to pay an unspec­i­fied amount of money to per­suade the Israeli soldier’s (Shalit) kid­nap­pers to extra­dite him to Qatar instead of Egypt, in an attempt to influ­ence the Egypt­ian role.
