- Please, can anybody help me to decode or “crack” what is exactly Talabani trying to say here?
Talabani tries to explain his and Maliki’s official authorities (about the dispute between the two on who should represent Iraq in Arab summits):
The president is the commander in chief of the armed forces in the formalities and ceremonies, and the president should be called the commander [of the armed forces]. As for the Prime Minister he is the active [commander of the armed forces].
And here he said:
According to article 67 in the constitution: The president represents the sovereignty of the country. “drawing” the states foreign policy is part of this sovereignty.
- According to the Supreme Council’s Al-Huda Radio:
Al-Habubi is given the second-deputy-governor post in Karbala Province (notice that it is the same Council accused Al-Habubi of being Ba’athist).
Al-Habubi denied this report saying there is no such thing.
