Washington’s angry message to Maliki asking Turkey to mediate before Iran

Kuwaiti Alwatan noticed the following:

After a meet­ing behind closed doors held by the Iraqi secu­rity and defense com­mit­tee in the par­lia­ment, Iraqi Defense Min­is­ter Abdul-Qader al-Obeidi came out and accused Syria of being behind the Wednesday’s blasts in Baghdad.

After few hours the Iraqi state tele­vi­sion broad­cast the con­fes­sions of lead­ing Baathist [arrested four days before the explo­sion

Accord­ing to Syr­ian news­pa­per Al-Watan:

Iraqi source con­firmed that Wash­ing­ton sent an angry mes­sage to Maliki about his “hasty actions and ill-considered” reac­tion against Syria, ask­ing him to respond imme­di­ately to Turkey’s efforts to medi­ate between Iraq and Syria.

The same sources con­firmed that Wash­ing­ton wanted Ankara to inter­vene and solve the dis­pute as soon as pos­si­ble before Iran starts its own medi­a­tion between Iraq and Syria.
