What will be the Supreme Council’s next step after the election of Ammar Al-Hakim as the head of the movement (as expected)?

According to Al-Hayat’s Mushriq Abbas:

All the other political blocs in the newly formed UIA are against the “South Federation”, the Supreme Council will need to sacrifice this project, since it played against the movement last election, and very costly in the numbers of votes.

But I think the Supreme Council will temporary “freeze” the previous idea.

Maliki still resists Iran’s pressure to make him join the UIA, despite his meeting with the Iranian head of the Quds Brigades “Qasim Sulaimani according to Kuwaiti Al-Watan, who told Maliki about the Iranian wishes that Dawa Party to join the UIA, warning Maliki of the consequences.

Akhbar Al-Khaleej explains Maliki’s resistance saying that Maliki eyeing his future career:

Maliki wants a written agreement signed by the United Iraqi Alliance, says that he will be promoted as a Prime Minister for the next term.

Right now, Maliki fears that one of the two (Adil Abd Al-Mehdi or Hummam Hamudi) to be appointed as the new head of the Supreme Council, both have more influence on the other UIA factions and virtually means that the whole Government is delivered to the Supreme Council on a golden plate.

But with today’s reported on Al-Watan, it seems chances of Maliki to join the UIA are just getting harder if not impossible, Maliki two rivals are also looking forward for official positions in the government in the near future:

Hints and remarks that Ja’afari will be the head of the UIA, andthe Sadrists eyeing the Prime Minister position (presumably will support AL-Ja’afari also).
