Shiites split over Eid Al-Fitr celebration

While Shi­ites in Iran cel­e­brate Eid Al-Fitr today Sun­day 20–09-’09, Sis­tani announced that today is the last today of Ramadan and tomor­row Mon­day 21–09-’09 is the first of Eid Al-Fitr.

Sadrists web­site Nahrain­net crit­i­cized Sistani’s deci­sion say­ing that the Supreme cleric “spoiled” one of the rare occa­sions when Shi­ite and Sun­nis cel­e­brate the Eid on the same day.
