All the events reported here took place in less than 24 hours after Sunday’s explosions:
Political blocs and parties are already started with exchanging accusations, settling accounts, and using Sunday’s incident to pressure their rivals.
INA members (Supreme Council, the Sadrists, and the National Reform Movement) joined by others in the Parliament want to question the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, and that is Maliki.
“Baghdad Province Council”, dominated by Maliki’s Dawa Party voted to depose the Interior Minister Jawad Boulani, and the Commander of the Baghdad Forces Abood Qanber.
As Maliki’s difficult position is going from bad to worst, a rescue hand came from his well-known opponent and one of the INA leaders “Ahmad Chalabi”, when he called Maliki to join INA and protect what he called the “supreme national interest”.
However, Chalabi’s call carries a warning message to Maliki telling him that INA will do all in its power to prove the failure of his [Maliki] political and military plans.
The only thing Maliki can do right now is to find few “scapegoats” military commanders to sacrifice, and he already started with Boulani and Qanber.
