All the events reported here took place in less than 24 hours after Sunday’s explo­sions:

Polit­i­cal blocs and par­ties are already started with exchang­ing accu­sa­tions, set­tling accounts, and using Sunday’s inci­dent to pres­sure their rivals.

INA mem­bers (Supreme Coun­cil, the Sadrists, and the National Reform Move­ment) joined by oth­ers in the Par­lia­ment want to ques­tion the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, and that is Maliki.

“Bagh­dad Province Coun­cil”, dom­i­nated by Maliki’s Dawa Party voted to depose the Inte­rior Min­is­ter Jawad Boulani, and the Com­man­der of the Bagh­dad Forces Abood Qanber.

As Maliki’s dif­fi­cult posi­tion is going from bad to worst, a res­cue hand came from his well-known oppo­nent and one of the INA lead­ers “Ahmad Cha­l­abi”, when he called Maliki to join INA and pro­tect what he called the “supreme national interest”.

How­ever, Chalabi’s call car­ries a warn­ing mes­sage to Maliki telling him that INA will do all in its power to prove the fail­ure of his [Maliki] polit­i­cal and mil­i­tary plans.

The only thing Maliki can do right now is to find few “scape­goats” mil­i­tary com­man­ders to sac­ri­fice, and he already started with Boulani and Qanber.
