The National Movement

Today, Allawi (Iraqi List) and Salih Al-Mutlaq (National Dia­logue) offi­cially announced their coali­tion “The Iraqi National Move­ment” joined by the “Awak­en­ing Coun­cils” of Diyala Province (after stalled nego­ti­a­tions with “State of Law”), but few thing need to be mentioned:

- It is unusual that the head of the coali­tion Allawi is not the secretary-general (Mut­laq), this explains the delay.

- All other coali­tions (INA, State of Law … etc) announced their coali­tions in lux­ury places and five stars hotels, Allawi-Mutlaq Coali­tion took place in Ill­wia Club — Kind of mid­dle class social club.

- In press con­fer­ence after the announce­ment, Allawi answered a ques­tion on Kirkuk cri­sis saying:

On Kirkuk, the solu­tion must be done accord­ing to a com­pre­hen­sive polit­i­cal dia­logue and not by lim­ited polit­i­cal blocs leaders.
