I can imagine that Ali Larijani’s visit to Iraq is to pressure the “State of Law” to join the INA, but I don’t think that this is the reason behind the circulating news of Maliki’s decision (already reported here two weeks ago).

Side note:

Maliki — INA join a coalition and win the parliament majority is a priority right now to face Allawi’s coalition, as reported on Al-Malafpress.

NewSabah reported about the new Iran — U.S. conflict arena which is the Iraqi parliament, and the U.S. ambassador Hill disappointment with the leaked information of deal between INA and the “State of Law”. According to the newspaper Hill sent a warning to Maliki to not to listen to Iran’s allies.

Larijani’s visit to the Iraqi parliament send a message to the U.S. administration that the Iraqi parliament is controlled by Tehran. So, when Iraqi lawmakers agree to vote in order to pass the election law, that will happens according to the Iranian desire, follows Larijani’s visit, especially after Washington, Odierno, the American ambassador Hill (who attended the Iraqi parliament also), Obama and Biden failed to convince the parliament to accept the election law.

After the U.S. ambassador visit to the Parliament, there was an “emergency government” suggestion made by the Iraqi Presidential Council which is probably will be adopted by the U.S. as “plan B” to limit the Iran’s influence and its allies in Iraq. This means: There is no election on 15 January.

After Larijani’s visit, the Kurds (who understood the U.S. game) said the following Al-Hayat 7-10-2009:

News circulate here and there about the agreement on the election law are not real.

A very clever message from the Kurds to the American administration means that the Kurds are not interested in Larijani’s deals in Iraq and the Kurds will do what the Americans want.

Kirkuk issue is an agreement between Kurds and the American side, in order to waste the remaining time of the parliament and postpone the elections to freeze Maliki’s government later.

Faraj Al-Haidari, head of the Independent High Electoral Commission finalized this plan by saying:

Even if the Parliament agree on the election law Saturday [7-10-2009], the commission is unable ran the election at time.

Simple calculation shows that this is the American plan in Afghanistan implemented in Iraq.
